What’s the Story

Kenyatta

The appointment was good for me. Everybody that I’ve met there is so friendly. I know it’s part of the gig but still, everyone is so friendly! I loved the bit you do with the chalkboard coming up the steps. Never seen anything like that. Very fresh. The receptionists are fantastic and the paperwork was easy.

The process of having the braces put on was great! I have super sensitive teeth but even with that, I almost fell asleep a couple times. Dr. Helena? Amazing. The assistant Kalila is outstanding. She is professional, personable, and knowledgeable. She kept me informed and answered all of my questions that I had throughout the entire process. From the initial consultation with Dr. Virk to the application of braces with Dr. Helena. I had no doubt that I was in good hands. And the assistant Jordynn? Awesome! She has a chill vibe which put me even more at ease. Many thanks to them. And of course, big ups to you Michelle! Without your guidance, advice, and motivation, I don’t think I’d have braces on right now. I’d still be marinating on it waiting for the new year or some other nonsense.

So when I got home I kept waiting for the pain to kick in like when I had my wisdom teeth taken out. Never really happened that way for me. I’ve had some ‘raw jaw’ but nothing too intense. I thought for sure I’d be downing the Advil like Skittles, but such was not the case. I even went out and bought sorbet and fruit pops thinking I’d be all sorts of sore, swollen, and cranky. Didn’t happen. Happy about that.

I’ve been thinking about the decision to get braces. I remember in the beginning Michelle, you suggested that I go with Invisalign due to potential food consumption conflicts that may arise with having braces. Even though I chose the clear braces instead of Invisalign, I value the fact that you presented all options to me without bias and I was able to make an informed decision. And from that, a plan was implemented to best achieve the desired outcome. Things mostly happen for a reason I feel and having braces may be exactly what I need to further advance my personal goals. I’m going to make the most of this opportunity by making the necessary dietary changes to ensure a successful treatment. And perhaps along the way, improve my nutrition as well! Just keepin’ it real.

So that’s where I’m at. Head up, excited about the possibilities, and focused on the future. A million thanks and much gratitude to you and the entire Orthodontic Excellence crew! You’re the best!

Peace,

Kenyatta
